Counselling for Parents & Carers

Supporting you while you support the young people in your life.

Parenting or caring for a teenager can be both rewarding and challenging. You may find yourself feeling worried, frustrated, or unsure of how best to help.
At Your Listening Space in Horsham, I offer a calm, confidential space for parents and carers to explore their own experiences and to reflect on the changing dynamics within family life.

Creating Space
for You

It’s natural to focus on supporting your teenager — but your wellbeing matters too.

Counselling gives you time and space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening. You may wish to talk about how best to support your young person, or simply to process your own emotions about what family life looks like right now.

I work in a warm, collaborative and non-judgemental way, helping you to build clarity and confidence in your role as a parent or carer.

Working
Together

I work integratively, drawing from different counselling approaches to meet your individual needs.

Together, we’ll explore not only the challenges you’re facing but also your own story — how past experiences, relationships and expectations may shape how you respond in the present.

This gentle self-understanding can open the door to new perspectives, improved communication and more compassionate relationships within the family.

Helping You Help Your Teenager

When parents and carers feel calmer, clearer and more connected, it creates space for young people to do the same.
By taking time for yourself, you’re not stepping away from your child — you’re strengthening the foundation from which you can support them.

Taking the First Step

You don’t have to have all the answers — sometimes it starts with simply being heard.
Counselling can help you reconnect with yourself, understand your teenager’s experience more deeply, and rediscover balance within your family life.
